X-linked agammaglobulinemia
X-linked agammaglobulinemia is an inherited, genetic condition in which the body's ability to fight infections is impaired. Due to X-linked agammaglobulinemia, the patient develops infections in the ear, sinuses, respiratory tract, blood, and internal organs.
X-linked agammaglobulinemia occurs almost exclusively in males, although females are genetic carriers. X-linked agammaglobulinemia is diagnosed in a newborn or child after the patient has had repeated infections. Sometimes, the diagnosis is also found in adults
